I am a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor of Science in biology.  I earned a Master of Science in biology from Bowling Green State University.  I worked for several years in the industrial chemical industry, maintaining large quantities of chemicals in clients’ manufacturing facilities.  I returned to school in a transition to teaching program and became certified to teach middle school science and high school biology and chemistry.  I worked as an adjunct at Schoolcraft College from 2006-2013.  I also worked in the biology and chemistry labs from 2008-2011.  I was a temporary full-time instructor before I became a full time instructor in at Schoolcraft in 2013.  On campus, I have been involved in the AAUW Girls in STEM program, the AAUW-Northville Career Path Day for middle school girls, Middle School College Night on the Schoolcraft campus, and I am currently involved in the Galileo Teacher Leadership program.  I am a member of the National Association of Biology Teachers, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Wildflower Association of Michigan.  I am married with twin daughters.  I coach volleyball and I am a Girl Scout troop leader, in addition to volunteering my time at St. James in Novi.
