ECG Cardiac Monitor Technician

Course Description
This 60-hour course prepares participants to work in the allied health field as a Cardiac Monitor Technician. The course covers the basics of cardiac anatomy and physiology while concentrating on the electrophysiology of the cardiac conduction system. Participants will learn how to apply and interpret basic three-lead cardiac rhythms. The course will end with basic cardiac management including Basic Life Support (CPR).

- Interpret Sinus Blocks, Pauses and Arrests.
- Interpret Premature Contraction.
- Interpret Ectopic Beats and Rhythm.
- Interpret Atrial Rhythms.
- Interpret Junctional Rhythms.
- Interpret Ventricular Rhythms.
- Interpret Escape and Idioventricular Rhythms.
- Interpret Atrioventricular Block.
- Interpret Artificially Paced Rhythms.
- Summarize the ECG interpretation process.
- Value changes to ECG rhythms.
- Construct a plan of action for each rhythm analyzed.
