Initial Certification Applicants
- Applicants must have a minimum of an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale).
- Individuals with less than a 3.0 (2.99-2.80) GPA may contact the Education Office to have their transcripts evaluated.
- Bachelor’s degree can be in any content area.
- Pass MTTC in area(s) seeking endorsement.
- Probationary approval may be given without passing of MTTC Subject Area Test(s) for one academic year.
- Interim Teaching Certification cannot be issued without passing of MTTC.
- Apply to Schoolcraft College
- Apply to the ARC Program
- ARC Program Application
- Resume
- Official Transcript
- Photo ID
- MTTC Content exam(s) *or plan on when MTTC will be taken
- Pass criminal background check
- Meet with ARC Certification Officer to register for appropriate coursework
Additional Endorsement Applicants

- MTTC Content exam(s)
- Pass criminal background check
- Meet with ARC Certification Officer to finalize ISP requirements
Evaluation of Transcripts from Other Countries
Individuals who have completed course work, a degree, or a teacher preparation program in another country (with the exception of individuals who have completed a teacher preparation program and degrees in Canada and who hold a valid teaching certificate from Ontario, Newfoundland, Quebec, or Saskatchewan) must provide a course-by-course evaluation report from one of the evaluation services listed below:
A copy of the transcript evaluation report must be submitted with a copy of the transcript and other required admission documents.
