Pool and Locker Room Rules
Pool Deck Rules
- Participants are responsible for recognizing their own limitations & acting in the best interest of their own safety.
- No street shoes on deck.
- No spectators on deck ‐ spectators view classes from balcony.
- No running, skipping, hopping or horseplay on deck or in locker rooms.
- No walking on deck while wearing swim fins.
- Participants arriving less than ten (10) minutes before class start time must wait in locker room or sit quietly on pool deck bench.
- Participants arriving more than ten (10) minutes before class start time must wait in locker room.
- Participants cannot put feet in pool or enter pool until class start time.
- Participants must shower with soap prior to entering (or re‐entering) pool.
- No pool entry for participants with open wounds, rashes, infectious condi‐
tions and/or bandages. - If pool becomes contaminated, participants must exit the water immediately.
- Depending on college‐established sanitation procedures, pool may be closed for up to 24 hours.
- No unauthorized photography allowed at any time, with any device.
- No food, gum, glass bottles or cans allowed in the pool area or locker rooms.
- Participants must wear clean and proper swim attire. Goggles and swim caps are recommended.
- No personal belongings allowed in pool area ‐ use locker in locker room.
- Schoolcraft College is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Children not toilet trained must wear a CDC‐approved swim diaper. Change diapers in locker room only.
- Diving permitted in designated areas only ‐ one person on diving board at a time.
- Lap Swim: Lane 1 designated for walking & stretching, Lanes 2‐6 for lap swimming. Proof of registration/membership in current semester or staff/faculty photo ID may be required.
Men’s and Women’s Locker Room Rules

- No unauthorized photography allowed at any time, with any device.
- Participants arriving less than ten (10) minutes before class start time must wait in locker room or sit quietly on pool deck bench.
- Participants arriving more than ten (10) minutes before class start time must wait in locker room.
- Participants must shower with soap prior to entering (or re‐entering) pool.
- Do not leave personal items unattended in shower stalls.
- No personal belongings allowed in pool area – use locker in locker room.
- Children over two (2) years of age not allowed in locker rooms of the opposite sex.
- Six (6) Family Changing Rooms available for participants with age restrictions or disabilities.
Balcony Rules
- Pool and locker room rules are posted in their respective areas.
- No unauthorized photography allowed at any time, with any device.
- No food, gum, glass bottles or cans allowed on balcony.
