Sandra Allen
Aquatics Instructor/National Level Medalist
Sandra Allen, a lifelong swimmer and current National level medalist in synchronized swimming, is dedicated to teaching swimming for all ages at Schoolcraft College. Emphasizing safety and mastery of basic skills, Sandra’s experience extends to local and national competitions. Holding current Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications, she is committed to creating a positive and secure learning environment for her students.
Natalie Bunner
Aquatics Coordinator/Aquatics Instructor
Natalie Bunner serves as the Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics Instructor at Schoolcraft College’s pool, accumulating over 13 years of experience with more than 8 years dedicated to teaching both learn-to-swim and water aerobic classes. Her passion lies in fostering water confidence for individuals of all ages and abilities. From infants to adults in their 90s, Natalie’s commitment extends to creating a positive learning experience for everyone. As a mother, she eagerly anticipates her own children’s swimming lessons at the college, aiming to instill in them the love of swimming she has cultivated over the years.
Kathi Carzon
Founder and Owner, American Health and Fitness
Kathi Carzon, founder and owner of American Health and Fitness since 1985, boasts over 35 years of experience in fitness and Yoga instruction. Certified as a Fitness Specialist and Hatha Yoga Instructor, she prioritizes creating inclusive classes for seniors with limited mobility. As a member of health foundations, Kathi ensures her instruction aligns with the latest information. Her passion lies in witnessing the progress of students overcoming physical limitations, providing a diverse range of yoga, fitness, and water exercise classes through Schoolcraft College’s PPL programs.
Lori Mross
Swim and Water Aerobics Instructor
Lori Mross, with 13 years of service at Schoolcraft College, is a dedicated Swim and Water Aerobics Instructor. Her extensive background includes certifications as a Water Safety Instructor and over 40 years of teaching swimming. Lori’s versatile approach caters to a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced swimmers, emphasizing the belief that swimming is a life skill beneficial for physical and cognitive well-being. In addition to her educational pursuits, Lori has contributed to various community programs, making swimming accessible and enjoyable for all ages.
Patricia (Patti) Poirier
Swim Coach/Artistic Swim Team Member
Patti Poirier’s lifelong commitment to swimming began at age seven, evolving into a competitive journey through college at Eastern Michigan University. As a former head coach for Livonia Spartan Aquatic Club and a nationally ranked synchronized swimmer, Patti brings a wealth of experience to her role. With 42 years of teaching physical education, biology, and anatomy physiology at Divine Child HS, Patti returned to Schoolcraft College post-retirement, emphasizing the importance of basic swim skills for survival and the joy of swimming for fitness.
Rebecca Wiseman
Aquatics Instructor/Head Lifeguard
Rebecca Wiseman serves as an Aquatics Instructor and Head Lifeguard at Schoolcraft College’s pool, bringing nearly 7 years of experience to her role. From teaching learn-to-swim classes to water aerobics, Rebecca appreciates the welcoming atmosphere at the Schoolcraft pool. With a background rooted in swimming from a young age and varsity experience in high school, she holds various certifications, including Lifeguard Instructor. Rebecca is passionate about creating positive experiences for individuals of all ages and abilities, making a lasting impact at the Schoolcraft pool.
Paige Woodruff
Aquatics Instructor/Lifeguard
Paige Woodruff, an Aquatics Instructor and Lifeguard at Schoolcraft College’s pool, brings a wealth of experience in competitive swimming and diverse teaching roles. With a focus on Swim Team Prep and water safety skills for Schoolcraft Police Academy cadets, Paige combines her passion for swimming with ongoing academic pursuits in Movement Science. Her goal is to share her love for swimming while contributing to the development of water safety skills in her students.
