Step Ahead Program

Step Ahead with Schoolcraft College is a program that focuses on student success and college readiness for those who are graduating from high school or are starting/returning to school later in life.

9-12 Graders and Currently Enrolled Students

New Incoming Students

New, incoming students are invited to participate in our Step Ahead with Schoolcraft Summer Bridge program. Open to those who have just graduated high school or are starting/returning to school later in life. This program is free for students.

Michigan Reconnect

Michigan Reconnect is a scholarship program that pays for you to attend your in-district community college tuition-free or offers a large tuition discount if you attend an out-of-district community college.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old when you apply
  • Have lived in Michigan for a year or more
  • Have a high school diploma, high school equivalency (GED), or certificate of completion
  • Have not yet completed a college degree (associate or bachelor’s)

Michigan Achievement

The Michigan Achievement Scholarships are designed to help recent graduates from high schools in Michigan receive funds for continuing education. Eligible students could receive financial aid to attend a college or university with the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, or for a career training program with the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship.

Those who qualify could receive:

  • Up to $2,750 to attend a Michigan community college, per year, up to three years.

Scholarships

Schoolcraft’s online scholarship application service, called Scholarship Universe, is available to students who have been accepted to the College by the Admissions Office. More information about specific scholarship opportunities on Scholarship Universe, or the Financial Aid website.
