Get Help Paying for Attending Schoolcraft College Tuition-Free
Michigan Reconnect is a scholarship program that pays for you to attend Schoolcraft college tuition-free. You can use the scholarship to complete an associate degree or a skill certificate program.
Eligibility Requirements & Coverage
If you’re age 25+
Who qualifies:
- At least 25 years of age at time of application and before the start of the semester
- Be a Michigan resident at least one year before start of semester
- U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Have earned a high school diploma, certificate of completion or high school equivalency certificate
- Have not earned a college a college or university degree (Associate or Bachelor)
If you’re age 21-24 (Limited time – Enroll by Fall 2024)
For a limited time only, those 21 to 24 are now eligible for Michigan Reconnect!
To be eligible you must:
- Be at least 21 years of age before the start of the semester
- Apply and enroll in courses by Fall 2024
- Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Be a Michigan resident at least one year before start of semester
- Have earned a high school diploma, certificate of completion or high school equivalency certificate
- Have not earned a college or university degree (Associate or Bachelor)
What Michigan Reconnect Pays For
Reconnect can cover the Resident rate of tuition for all resident and non-resident students. Reconnect can also cover any program or course required fee. Pell Grant and any tuition restricted scholarships will apply to these charges first.
- Students can use Reconnect for one skills certificate and one associates degree
- Eligibility in this program ends after four 4 years or your first associates degree (whichever is first)

How to Maintain your Michigan Reconnect Eligibility
To remain eligible, please complete the following:
- Maintain Michigan residency
- Submit a FAFSA every year. List Schoolcraft’s school code as the first college choice: 002315
- 2023-24 FAFSA for Fall 2023, Winter 2024 and Summer 2024
- Students must have only one eligible program of study on record
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA while in the program
- Starting Fall 2023, to meet continuous enrollment (CE), you must earn at least 12 credit hours with a passing grade in the academic year
