CAHIIM Accreditation Information
The Health Information Management accreditor of the Health Information Technology program at Schoolcraft College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Technology is in the reaffirmation review process in 2020-2021. Program Outcomes
Students successfully completing this CAHIIM-accredited program are eligible to take the Registered Health Information Technician exam by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Each year the program completes a yearly Annual Program Assessment Review (APAR) for CAHIIM.
Outcomes from the most recent program review include:
- Health Information Technology Program has a 93% graduation rate (2)
- 100% of respondents to an employer survey indicated the quality of the Schoolcraft HIT Graduate is Excellent or Very Good (1)
- 90% of the graduates were employed within one year of graduation (1)
- 78% of the graduates were employed within one year of graduation in roles directly relating to their HIT degree (1)
- 95% of the graduates rated the program as Excellent/Good Overall (1)
- 68% of first-time test takers were successful on the RHIT exam. (3)
