Strategic Plan
Schoolcraft College is in the process of developing its Strategic Plan for 2026-2031. The Strategic Plan will contain identified goals and objectives that align with the College’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation efforts and quality initiatives. The 2026 Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees in June 2026 ahead of the College’s fiscal year, which begins on July 1.

Strategic Planning Steering Committee
The Steering Committee will act as the overarching management team and will provide guidance and oversight for the Strategic Plan. This group will ensure strategic alignment, resource allocation, communication, and monitor progress to guide, support, and steer the planning process toward intended goals.

Strategic Planning Committee
The Strategic Planning Committee will develop, in collaboration with the Strategic Plan Steering Team and guidance from the Schoolcraft College Leadership Council and Student Advisory Board, a 2026-2031 Strategic Plan for the College. The Strategic Plan will contain identified themes, subthemes and metrics that align with the College’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, accreditation standards and community needs.

Subcommittees
To help ensure smooth workflow and attention to detail, four sub-committees have been formed. They are:
SWOT Analysis Subcommittee
The SWOT Analysis Subcommittee will work closely with Research and Analytics to investigate College strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. These resources will allow the Committee to see a comprehensive picture of where we currently stand and where we should aim to go.

Community Survey Subcommittee
This Subcommittee will work to gather additional data from our surrounding community. This will allow the SPC to better understand the needs of our constituencies, and what the College needs to do to fulfill those needs.

Campus Wide Kick Off Event
This Subcommittee will play an important role in educating and fostering engagement for the Strategic Plan. The Strategic Planning Process Kick Off should be accessible to all and provide creative opportunities to capture input. This group will also explore creative ways to share this feedback back to campus.

Student Advisory Board (SAB) Subcommittee
The Student Advisory Board will be comprised of 6-8 Schoolcraft students from various corners of the College. This group will provide the SPC with a wide range of student perspectives and help shape the future of the institution. SAB members will commit to 3 meetings over one academic year (Fall through Winter). During these sessions, the SAB will provide vision, review potential themes and subthemes, and consult during the drafting phase. The Strategic Planning Committee Members assigned to the SAB Subcommittee will guide the students through the process.
