Who We Are
The Vistatech Center on the Schoolcraft College campus is a technology-rich venue for training, business meetings, corporate events, innovative learning, and culinary arts education. The facility includes meeting space for large and small groups; advanced telecommunications technology throughout; flexible furniture configurations; on-site catering services; and some of the nation’s most advanced instructional kitchens. Vistatech is available for conferences, teleconferences, training sessions, work meetings, product demonstrations and industry expos.
The Vistatech Center is the result of a construction and renovation project that has transformed the former Waterman Campus Center, creating a unique venue for education/business/community partnerships. Inside Vistatech you will find:
- Meeting and teleconferencing capabilities to accommodate small and large groups and individuals in distant locations
- Sophisticated information technology labs and flexible seminar rooms
- A gourmet restaurant and the nation’s finest teaching and demonstration kitchens, providing a world-class venue for Schoolcraft’s acclaimed culinary arts program

Working with a Vistatech account representative, you will be able to plan an activity that makes the most of the facility’s features and amenities. Funding Partners Made Vistatech Possible
Vistatech is an example of what happens when a public college practices good stewardship and when private and public funding sources lend their support to a worthwhile endeavor.
Schoolcraft College’s founders had the foresight to purchase a large tract of land west of I-275 between Six and Seven Mile Roads in Livonia. By leasing unused portions of this land to a developer of office and retail properties, Schoolcraft boosted the local economy while generating revenue for use in developing its central campus. This revenue stream provided the seed funding for the vision that became Vistatech.
The College could not have funded the project alone. It took additional funding from the State of Michigan’s Capital Outlay program; a federal grant for technology; and $1 million in donations from individuals and corporations, secured through the Schoolcraft College Foundation, to make the dream of Vistatech a reality.
