It is the policy of Schoolcraft College that no person shall, on the basis of race, religion, color, gender, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, and/or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination during any program or activity or in employment.

The Disabilities Support Services office assists the College in ensuring equal access to programs and activities by facilitating accommodations and by providing encouragement and support for individuals with disabilities. Schoolcraft College strives to make all of its web resources accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Establishing and Using Accommodations

  1. Students interested in establishing accommodations must be admitted to Schoolcraft College, and must submit their documentation by completing the Accessibility Accommodation Request form in the Accommodate system. Documentation must be received prior to the intake appointment. Schoolcraft College reserves the right to request additional or updated documentation in order to provide accommodations or services. All information provided is kept confidential and is securely submitted directly to the DSS Office.
  2. The DSS office will contact the student (within 3 business days) to schedule their intake appointment or request more information. Students should monitor their SC email for this message.
  3. During the intake appointment, the student and DSS Advocate will engage in an interactive discussion to determine reasonable accommodations.
  4. Students must specify which accommodations they would like to use in each course prior to the start of each semester. Students can do so by completing a Semester Request in the Accommodate system.
