Futures for Frontliners (F4F) Scholarship
To thank Michigan workers who provided essential services between April and June 2020, Futures for Frontliners offers a tuition-free path to community colleges. You can earn a technical certificate or associate degree starting in the Winter 2021 semester.

Current Schoolcraft College Students*
1. Apply for Futures for Frontliners
2. Submit a FAFSA application for financial aid, including submission of any additional documents that are requested
3. Register for classes for the Winter semester when registration becomes available. (Must register at least half-time (minimum of 6 credit hours) to be eligible.
Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the program:
- Michigan resident (which is based on the parent for dependent students)
- Have worked in an essential industry at least half-time for 11 of the 13 weeks between April 1 – June 30, 2020
- Have been required by their job to work outside the home at least some of the time between April 1 – June 30, 2020
- Have a HS diploma or equivalent (GED)**
- Not have previously earned an associate or bachelor’s degree
- Not be in default on a Federal student loan
- Complete a Futures scholarship application by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2020.
*This award will only cover in-district tuition rate for eligible students. This award will only pay out once a student’s Pell grant award, or any tuition restricted award (excluding TIP) they are eligible for have paid out to their account.
**There is different eligibility criteria for students without a high school diploma. These students may follow the same steps for applying, but need to contact [email protected] for additional assistance.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I’m awarded?
F4F, and all other awards, will appear on the Award Offer Letter on Web Advisor when they are available to use. Award notifications are sent to SC email when awards are added.

What does F4F cover?
Resident students – tuition and mandatory fees remaining not covered by other tuition restricted aid after your Pell Grant (if eligible) has disbursed.
Non-Resident students – the resident rate of tuition and mandatory fees not covered by other tuition restricted aid after your Pell Grant (if eligible) has disbursed.
F4F can be used up to 4 years or until first Associates Degree is achieved.
What mandatory fees are covered by F4F?
The following fees at Schoolcraft College not covered by other tuition restricted aid:
- Infrastructure Fee
- Registration Fee
- Instructional Equipment Fee
- Service Fee
- Excess Contact Hour Fee
What are the requirements for F4F?
- Enroll 6+ credits in the semesters you wish to use F4F.
- Earn at least a 2.0 GPA in your registered courses you take while in the program
