Attend one of our FREE Student Success Days to enhance your college readiness skills. Participating students will attend workshops on English and Math readiness, time management, study skills, career planning, and other topics to help them start their semester strong. Complete program workshops and activities to be eligible for scholarships and prizes! Must be an accepted Schoolcraft College student to register and attend.  Fill out the interest form and we will contact you once registration is open.

Step 1:

  • Register for and attend a FREE Student Success Day!
  • Choose one date from the following:
    • Wednesday, July 22
    • Thursday, July 30
    • Tuesday, August 4
    • Monday, August 10
  • Workshops run from 9a-3:30p, lunch provided.

Step 2: (optional)

  • If students attend one of the student success days AND successfully complete one of the following courses in either the summer or fall semesters, they will receive a $500 scholarship towards the following semester.
    • Qualifying classes:
      • CAB 102
      • HUM 106
      • COLLS 053

*Note that the student is responsible for registering and paying the tuition and fees for these classes. Students may use their financial aid to pay for these classes, if applicable.

**Dual-enrolled high school students, who are not 2026 graduating seniors, are not eligible to participate in Step 2 of the program or receive the scholarship. If you are a dual-enrolled homeschooled or self-pay student, you may be eligible. Please email [email protected]

  • Dual-enrolled students are still eligible to attend Step 1, the Student Success Day.

Questions & Answers

Who is eligible to attend Step 1, Student Success Day? 

Attendees must be an accepted Schoolcraft College student to register and attend. This includes graduating seniors attending Schoolcraft in the Summer or Fall 2026, dual-enrolled high school students, current Schoolcraft students, and returning adult learners attending Schoolcraft in the Summer or Fall 2026.  You must have a Schoolcraft ID number to register. Please submit an admissions application if you have not done so already.

Who is eligible to participate in Step 2 of the program and receive the scholarship? 

Registered Schoolcraft College students are eligible to participate in Step 2 and receive the scholarship if they are graduating seniors attending Schoolcraft in the Summer or Fall 2026, current Schoolcraft students, and returning adult learners attending Schoolcraft in the Summer or Fall 2026. Eligible students must attend a Student Success Day and successfully complete one of the qualifying classes in order to be eligible for the scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded in the semester following requirement completion. 

Dual-enrolled high school students, who are not 2026 graduating seniors, are not eligible to participate in Step 2 of the program or receive the scholarship, due to dual-enrollment funding stipulations. If you are a homeschooled or self-pay dual-enrolled student, you may be eligible. Can dual-enrolled high school students attend? 

Dual-enrolled high school students are eligible to attend Step 1 of the program, the Student Success Day.  Dual-enrolled high school students, who are not 2026 graduating seniors, are not eligible to participate in Step 2 of the program or receive the scholarship, due to dual-enrollment funding stipulations. 

Can dual-enrolled homeschooled or self-pay students attend? 

Dual-enrolled homeschooled or self-pay students are eligible to attend Step 1 of the program, the Student Success Day.  Dual-enrolled homeschooled or self-pay students may be eligible to participate in Step 2 of the program and receive the scholarship. Can I attend more than one Student Success Day? 

No, students must choose one date to attend. Information presented will be similar between all dates. If you would like more resources, our Academic Success Coaches would be happy to meet with you individually on another date.

What will I learn during the Student Success Day? 

The purpose of this event is to prepare students for their college classes and become more acquainted with campus. Workshops will be held on a variety of topics related to student success and college preparation. Examples of potential workshops are how to write a college essay, math class preparedness, using library databases and resources, college grammar, time management and study skills, and more. Students will also get to know other campus resources such as Financial Aid & Scholarships, Student Activities, and the Hinkle Student Resource Center. Please note all workshop topics listed are subject to change.

Is food provided during the Student Success Day? 

Yes, lunch will be provided. There is a section on the registration form to fill out dietary restrictions. Attendees must submit dietary restriction accommodation requests no later than 14 days prior to the event. Our culinary team will do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions but may not be able to accommodate every dietary restriction. All food is prepared in a commercial kitchen with the risk of cross-contamination.

Who do I contact about disability accommodations (ADA) for this event? 

Please submit your accommodation request on the registration form. Attendees must submit accommodation requests no later than 14 days prior to the event. Please email [email protected] with any questions.  

Is there a fee to participate in the Student Success Day? 

No, the program is free to attend. 

Who pays for the qualifying class in Step 2? 

The student is responsible for registering and paying the tuition and fees for these classes. Students may use their financial aid to pay for these classes, if applicable.

When will I receive my scholarship for completing both Step 1 and Step 2? 

Scholarships will be awarded in the semester following requirement completion. For example, if you complete the Student Success Day and the qualifying class in the summer, you will receive the scholarship for the Fall 2026.  If you complete the Student Success Day in the summer and the qualifying class in the Fall 2026, you will receive the scholarship in Winter 2026.  Successful completion means attending the full Student Success Day and registering, attending, and passing one of the three qualifying classes.
