Schoolcraft College International Institute

The Schoolcraft College International Institute (SCII) strives to coordinate cross-cultural learning opportunities for campus and the community by infusing international content into coursework, programs, and other Schoolcraft College activities. The goal is to develop an appreciation of the diversities and commonalities among world cultures, and better understand the global forces shaping our lives.

All are welcome – students, faculty, staff and community members. Learning and understanding is fostered through a variety of avenues, including Focus Series events throughout the academic year; the Multicultural Fair; roundtables; a dedicated publication, International Agenda; and academic endorsement.

Many Ways to Engage

Focus Series: Each year a region of the world or an issue with a global effect is explored and studied through the Focus Series events, held primarily in the Winter and Fall semesters.

Multicultural Fair: This annual event, usually held in March, draws thousands of participants who enjoy food, art, dance and music performances, and other demonstrations from dozens of cultures.

GlobalEYEzers and Global Roundtables: GlobalEYEzers and Global Roundtables provide opportunities throughout the year for informal discussion of a variety of topics related to living and learning in a global society.
