Peer Assisted Learning
Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) offers structured study sessions facilitated by peer students (PAL Leaders) who have already taken a course, done well in it, and are highly recommended to the program by the instructor.
PAL study sessions are weekly-held reviews for all students, whether struggling or doing well, who are enrolled in historically difficult courses that offer the PAL program. A PAL Leader provides a comfortable environment for students who want to improve their understanding of the course content. PALs are peers who share their own successful study strategies to help students succeed in their course. PAL Leaders are trained in facilitation techniques and use the Socratic Method to promote critical thinking and problem solving.
Currently, the program is offered for select STEAM and Occupational Programs courses each semester. PAL Leaders may be available for other disciplines, as well. For general queries, or if you would like to know more about which courses currently offer the PAL Program, please contact the Learning Support Services via email: [email protected].
