Connecting with MacOS

Downloading the Installer

Open an internet browser and enter horizon.schoolcraft.edu into the address box at the top of the browser window. Select the option that says Install VMware Horizon Client (Figure 1).

In the proceeding page, select the Go to Downloads button for the MacOS installation of the client (Figure 2).

Select the Download button on the page that follows (Figure 3).

Upon download completion, run the executable. Depending on the Internet browser used, this process will vary.

Downloading from Google Chrome

Click on the text within the box in the bottom-left that says VMware-Horizon-….dmg (Figure 4).

Proceed to the instructions on completing the installation on MacOS.

Downloading from Safari

If prompted, select the option that says Allow in the security dialog box that appears (Figure 5). Select the download option again.

Select the downloads icon in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window (Figure 6). It is the leftmost icon.

In the downloads folder, double-click the VMware-Horizo…-********.dmg file to run the installer (Figure 7).

Proceed to the instructions on completing the installation on MacOS.

Completing the Installation

Select the Agree option in the EULA (End User License Agreement) that appears (Figure 8).

In the appearing installation menu, click and drag the VMware Horizon Client application icon into the Applications folder (Figure 9).

The application can now be launched from your applications folder which can be found in the Finder on the left-hand side. Double-click VMware Horizon Client as it appears towards the bottom of the list (Figure 10). Alternatively, the application can be launched from the Launchpad, which can be accessed from the dock spanning across the bottom of the screen.

Enter horizon.schoolcraft.edu in the proceeding application window and press Connect (Figure 11).

You can now use your Schoolcraft-provided credentials to sign into and receive a Schoolcraft desktop.
