What to Expect
Getting set-up with the Campus Cupboard
The Campus Cupboard is here to help you, our students, receive supplemental groceries at no cost. The pantry is available to all students, and there are no complicated hoops to jump through to use the pantry. The registration process takes less than five minutes and only needs to be done once a semester.
What to bring to your first visit:
- A Photo ID (i.e. Schoolcraft ID Card or Driver’s License)
- Your student ID number
You will be asked to sign an intake form each term. Once this is completed, staff will verify that you are currently enrolled, then you will then be registered to use the pantry for the rest of the academic semester. You can visit the Campus Cupboard up to once a week.
A Guide to Your Visit
The Campus Cupboard operates with a client-choice model, meaning you will be able to pick your own groceries from the shelves, much like shopping in a small store. We have handbaskets or rolling baskets available. Shelves are labeled by category, and each category has a limit as to how many items you can take per visit. Staff are always available to walk you through this process as needed.
Once you complete your selections, staff will weigh and bag your food items for you. Plan to bring your car if you have one or visit after class because you will have multiple bags to take with you. The Campus Cupboard is located in the former JC-Café space, in the Jeffress Center on the westmost side of the building near Haggerty Road (there is parking in front).
