English Language Institute non-credit classes
If you are looking to improve your English skills so that you can:
- interact more easily and confidently in everyday situations
- expand your employment opportunities
- prepare to enroll in college-level credit classes
...the English Language Institute offers the help you need. These non-credit classes provide a smaller class size with ample time to get to know your instructor and fellow students. You'll have many opportunities to practice your English skills in a friendly and helpful environment.
If you are new to the English Language Institute at Schoolcraft College, you cannot enroll in these classes unless you've taken an English Language Institute placement test (with the exception of the TOEFL Preparation Workshop). Your placement score will determine the proper class for you. Tests are offered by appointment only and are scheduled for several dates at least a week or more before classes start. You are strongly urged to make an appointment for a test by calling the Learning Assistance Center office at (734) 462-4436 one month before your first class session. The last test is given one week before classes begin, so please plan ahead!
