My grandfathers, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins have proudly served, each in a different branch of the military. My aunt died 5 years ago due to health complications from unknowingly handling agent orange during her time in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. She never took a penny from her earned veteran\u2019s benefits, saying the honor was serving her country, and she knew her life was at stake then and now. Our gratitude can never match the sacrifices willingly made by our Veterans.<\/p>\n\n\n

I am a Veteran of the US Army and was in the last graduating \u201cclass\u201d of the Women\u2019s Army Corp (WAC). Having enlisted in the \u201870\u2019s, just after Vietnam and when patriotism was publicly scorned, it\u2019s wonderful now to see that service members are getting the respect they truly deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n

I am the daughter and niece of a number of dedicated US Navy and Army veterans who served in the Pacific and in Europe during World War II as well as the niece of a career Marine who served for his country in Korea and Vietnam. Many of my cousins have chosen careers in various branches of the service. I respect and thank all those who choose to serve.<\/p>\n\n\n
