They patrol the main campus by foot and vehicle and also have a presence at the College\u2019s other facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re a <strong>fully-certified police department<\/strong> through the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES), responsible for all law enforcement on our campuses. We&#8217;re also an <strong>Accredited Agency<\/strong> through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michiganpolicechiefs.org\/page\/accreditedagencies\">Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police<\/a>, recognized for our commitment to best-practice standards. It provides resources and information for every registered student,&nbsp;staff and faculty member. Access the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?SchoolcraftCollege&amp;layout_id=4\" target=\"_blank\">SC<em> <\/em>Aware&nbsp;online reporting tool<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Avoid the Dreaded Parking Ticket<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may park in the North, South and Central parking lots, with the exception of restricted&nbsp;areas, which are posted \u201cFaculty Parking,\u201d \u201cAssigned Parking,\u201d and \u201cHandicapped\u201d parking.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All parking lots are lined and vehicles are to be parked within the designated spaces.&nbsp;There is no parking on the diagonal yellow lined areas at the ends of each row in any parking lot.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no parking permitted on any college street.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faculty and staff have parking provided in the North, South and Central parking lots which are&nbsp;posted and require a permit.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inner-campus parking is restricted to assigned parking, timed parking, and handicapped parking.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assigned parking is that which belongs to a college department and\/or one individual. Timed&nbsp;parking is restricted to 30 minutes. Handicap parking is provided in the inner campus parking&nbsp;areas and in the Central parking lot and requires a State or College-issued permit.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vehicles that are parked illegally on campus will be issued citations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Schoolcraft College Police Department Officers are authorized to write City of Livonia traffic citations under section&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/library.municode.com\/mi\/livonia\/codes\/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=CO_TIT10VETR_CH10.03GEPR_10.03.035ENTI10UPPUSCPR\"><strong>10.03.035 &#8211; Enforcement of Title 10 Upon Public School Property<\/strong><\/a>, of the Livonia Code of Ordinances. Tickets are payable to the 16th District Court located at&nbsp;15140 Farmington Road, Livonia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">If You Hear a Siren<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>In the event of a tornado, a warning siren located on campus will sound. You should move to an&nbsp;interior room or hallway away from windows and doors. Do not use rooms or labs that contain&nbsp;hazardous materials as a shelter. The Schoolcraft College Police Department will announce when it is clear to&nbsp;leave the area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.getrave.com\/login\/schoolcraft\" target=\"_blank\">SC Alerts<\/a>&nbsp;you\u2019ll be among the first to know about emergencies. You\u2019ll need to move calmly but immediately outside&nbsp;and stand in an area at least 50 feet from the building and away from any smoke. Staff and&nbsp;faculty will take a headcount and match it to their attendance sheet. Anyone unaccounted for&nbsp;should be reported to the Schoolcraft College Police Department at ext. 4424 as soon as possible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Injury and Illness<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>In the event of a medical emergency, call the Schoolcraft College Police Department office at&nbsp;ext. 4424 from any college phone, or (734) 462-4424 from a non-college phone. A Schoolcraft College Police Department Officer will respond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the emergency is life threatening,&nbsp;call 911 from any phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immediately after, please also call the Schoolcraft College Police Department Office at (734) 462-4424 from any non-college phone or 4424 from any campus phone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Crime<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p><strong>If a crime is in progress,&nbsp;call 911 from any phone.<em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>Immediately after, please also call the Schoolcraft College Police Department Office at (734) 462-4424 from any non-college phone or 4424 from any campus phone. A&nbsp;Schoolcraft College Police Department Officer will respond, conduct an investigation, make arrests as needed, file the necessary reports, and submit warrant requests to the prosecutor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Daily Crime Log (DCL)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A Federal law known as the Clery Act requires Campus Police to keep and maintain a Daily Crime Log (DCL).&nbsp;The purpose of the Daily Crime Log is to record all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to Campus Police.&nbsp;DCL entries include&nbsp;<em><u>all<\/u><\/em>&nbsp;crimes reported to the campus police department for the required geographic locations, not just Clery Act crimes. The DCL is designed to provide crime information on a timelier basis than the annual statistical disclosures. The DCL includes specific information about criminal incidents, not crime statistics. The DCL for the most recent 60-day period is open to public inspection, free of charge, upon request during normal business hours. Log entries older than 60 days are available within two business days of a request for public inspection. The log includes the nature of the crime, the date and time the crime occurred, the location of the crime and the disposition of the complaint.
