We salute the innovators, trailblazers and change-makers who have dared to dream, create and inspire. From game-changing inventions to cultural movements that empower our youth, we celebrate the unapologetic expression of Black identity and culture and the unapologetic spirit of Black Excellence.
Submission Criteria
Essay
250 word essay or poems between 60 to 100 words
Visual Artwork
An original artwork accompanied by a description of the submission piece
Video Presentation
PowerPoint, Slideshow, Documentary, Video or Audio Clip must be at least 10 minutes
Music
Submissions may be recorded or instrumentals performed live
Social Media Post
Consistent with theme, engaging, attention to details and creative content
The contest is open to all Schoolcraft students, staff and faculty members.

One first prize winner and one honorable mention will be awarded in each category.
Entrants may only be awarded once.
Previous years’ nominees are not eligible for submission.
All winning entries will be displayed, and honorees will have an opportunity to recite, perform or share the inspiration for their submission.
