It\u2019s never too early to plan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"color:#ddd\" class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-spacer gb-block-spacer gb-divider-solid gb-spacer-divider gb-divider-size-1\"><hr style=\"height:30px\"\/><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" start=\"1\" class=\"list-spacing wp-block-list\">\n<li>Decide what program of study or major you want to pursue (undeclared is okay).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Determine if your program of study is a secondary admit. A secondary admit means that&nbsp;<strong><em>after<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;you are admitted to the university you must be admitted into the college which houses your program. Some programs with secondary admits include business, education, engineering, nursing, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, music, dance, art and theater.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find how the classes you take at Schoolcraft College will transfer to your institution using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitransfer.org\/search-courses\">course equivalency tool<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talk with an Academic Advisor&nbsp;about your area of interest.&nbsp; There may be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/schoolcraft-to-u\/transfer-out\/transfer-guides\/\">transfer guides<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/schoolcraft-to-u\/transfer-out\/articulation-agreements\/\">special agreements<\/a> available for your program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/schoolcraft-to-u\/transfer-out\/transfer-guides\/michigan-transfer-agreement-mta\/\">Michigan Transfer Agreement<\/a>. This could save you time and money when transferring to a university. Once all coursework is completed, you can request the MTA endorsement by emailing <a href=\"mailto:screcord@schoolcraft.edu\">screcord@schoolcraft.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete appropriate Transfer coursework or a Transfer Associate\u2019s Degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact the universities you\u2019re interested in attending to request catalogs and applications. You might also be able to meet with an admissions or transfer representative to assist in transitioning you to the university.&nbsp; Also try to visit your intended college.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you apply to your transfer university and submit appropriate application fees, request an official transcript from Schoolcraft (and any other colleges you\u2019ve attended) be sent to the university or universities of your choice.
