Exceptions may be considered. To request an exception, contact the PPL office at 734-462-4448 or <a href=\"mailto:ppl@schoolcraft.edu\">ppl@schoolcraft.edu<\/a>. If a late registration is authorized, we are not able to pro-rate the class cost and our regular refund policy will still be in effect.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can I put my name on a waitlist for a class that is full?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Unfortunately, due to the large number of classes that we handle in any given semester, we are unable to keep a waitlist. We suggest that you continually check our website for class additions and\/or changes in enrollment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can I sit in one class session to see if I like it and then register?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>No. You must register for any class you wish to attend.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">What is the Student Code of Conduct and Resolution Process?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/home.schoolcraft.edu\/college-policies\/student-code-of-conduct\" target=\"_blank\">The Schoolcraft College Student Code of Conduct and Resolution Process<\/a>&nbsp;applies to all students pursuing credit and non-credit instruction at Schoolcraft College.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Do I really need to take a prerequisite if I think my skills are sufficient?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>If a class lists a prerequisite, we strongly recommend that you take it. If you have taken similar classes at another location, or have previous experience that covers the content of the prerequisite, you may choose not to take the prerequisite. Students are encouraged to assess their skill level and select an appropriate class. If you would like an instructor to help you determine your skill level, please call 734-462-4448 or email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ppl@schoolcraft.edu\">ppl<\/a><a href=\"mailto:cepd@schoolcraft.edu\">@schoolcraft.edu<\/a>. PPL reserves the right to recommend a student drop with a full refund if the instructor determines a registered student does not have the requisite skills to be successful.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">What is the age requirement for PPL classes?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Our classes are intended for students 18 years of age and older, unless stated otherwise in the class title or class description. It is at the discretion of PPL staff and the instructor to allow a student who is younger than 18 to enroll in a class.&nbsp;To inquire about approval, call 734-462-4448 or email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ppl@schoolcraft.edu\">ppl<\/a><a href=\"mailto:cepd@schoolcraft.edu\">@schoolcraft.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can I transfer from one section of a class to another once either section has started?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Transfers are subject to approval from the Program Coordinator. Please contact the PPL Department at 734-462-4448 or&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ppl@schoolcraft.edu\">ppl<\/a><a href=\"mailto:cepd@schoolcraft.edu\">@schoolcraft.edu<\/a>, if you would like to request a transfer. You will be notified once a decision has been made. There is&nbsp;<strong>no guarantee<\/strong>&nbsp;that your transfer will be approved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">What is the Waiver of Liability for Physical Fitness Classes?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>All participants of PPL&nbsp;<a href=\"\/ppl\/classes-schedules\/physical-fitness\/\">Physical Fitness<\/a>&nbsp;classes must agree to the terms of the Schoolcraft College&nbsp;<a href=\"\/ppl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2021\/11\/waiver-of-liability-form.pdf\">Waiver of Liability &#8211; Fitness Classes<\/a>&nbsp;at the time of registration. Review waiver before registering.&nbsp;<strong>Your registration signifies agreement to the waiver terms.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Do I need to purchase a book for my class?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>If you see the textbook symbol at the end of the class description, you will need a textbook. If a class has an optional textbook, it will be stated within the class description. If a class fee includes the cost of the textbook, it will also be stated within the class description and are typically handed out on the first day of class. If you see a USB symbol, it means that you need a flash\/thumb drive. Textbooks and flash\/thumb drives are available for purchase in the Bookstore. You must present a copy of your current schedule to purchase books.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">How do I know if the College is closed due to inclement weather?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>The college has a system to notify the campus community of severe weather, college closings, and emergency situations, called RAVE. All registered students will receive alerts via text, email, and voicemail through RAVE. Visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.getrave.com\/login\/schoolcraft\">RAVE<\/a>&nbsp;to ensure you are signed up for alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A notice will be placed on our website and be sent to the local news media. It will be broadcast in the same manner as K-12 school closings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Do you schedule a make-up if\/when a class is cancelled due to weather, College closing, etc.?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>PPL will issue make-up classes only for courses that offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Other courses will not be issued make-ups or refunds when the college is closed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In situations where the instructor cancels due to illness or personal reasons, an effort to issue a make-up will be made subject to room\/instructor availability. Your instructor will be notified if\/when a make-up class is scheduled, and he\/she will then notify the students at their next class. If the make-up class is imminent, the PPL Office staff will notify the students by phone and\/or email.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can I attend another class as a make-up if I miss my regular class?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>No. You may only attend a class to which you are registered for.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">What are CEUs?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>CEUs are Continuing Education Units. They are different from traditional college credits in that they do not count towards a college degree. Some organizations require that their employees obtain a certain number of CEUs to maintain a professional license and\/or to qualify for financial reimbursement. One (1) CEU represents ten (10) class hours of instruction. For example, a class that meets for a total of 24 hours offers 2.4 CEUs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Are PPL classes graded?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>PPL classes are graded on a pass\/fail basis. Students who pass a class will receive a \u2018Y\u2019 grade while students who do not pass will receive an \u2018N\u2019 grade. To receive a passing grade (and be awarded CEUs), students will need to attend 100% of a class that meets eight hours or less, or attend 90% of a class that meets nine hours or more.&nbsp;<strong>NOTE<\/strong>: If the State of Michigan requires 100% attendance to award CEUs for a particular class (e.g. Teacher Recertification, Nursing, etc.), that requirement overrides PPL requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you prefer to earn a grade based on the point system (4.0, 3.0, etc.) as opposed to a Y\/N grade, you will need to inform your instructor on the first day of class. If you do not inform the instructor on the first day of class, you may not be able to receive a grade in this format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you believe the grade you are issued is incorrect, please contact your instructor first for clarification. Grade changes must be approved by the instructor and made within one year of date of issue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Will I receive a certificate and\/or transcript at the end of my class?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Unless it is a specially designated class (e.g. Dementia Care), you will not receive a certificate stating that you have completed a class. For proof of class completion, please&nbsp;log into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/ocelotaccess\">Ocelot Access<\/a>&nbsp;to view or print your&nbsp;<em>unofficial<\/em>&nbsp;transcript.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To obtain a copy of your Personal &amp; Professional Learning transcript, please complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/home.schoolcraft.edu\/docs\/librariesprovider30\/forms\/ppl-transcript-requst-form.pdf?sfvrsn=208a2b5_4\">Personal &amp; Professional Learning Transcript Request Form<\/a>&nbsp;and fax or email it to the Records Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To request an&nbsp;<em>official<\/em>&nbsp;copy of your transcript to send to potential employers or other educational institutions, login to <a href=\"https:\/\/webadvisor.schoolcraft.edu\/\">Ocelot Access<\/a>&nbsp;where you can access the online Transcript Ordering Center. If you have questions regarding official or unofficial transcripts, please contact our Records Office at 734-462-4677.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Can I get in touch with my instructors?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Yes, we are able to provide you with an instructor&#8217;s contact information if they have authorized us to do so. If not, we will take your contact information and pass it along to them.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Do you have a lost and found?<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Yes. Items that are left behind are turned in to Campus Police.
