The purpose of this 16-hour course is to increase officer ability to observe, identify, and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both. This training also includes the four-hour Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Refresher training. Open to law enforcement, motor carrier officers, and prosecutors only. Non-law enforcement may only register with prior approval from DECP Program Coordinator or designee listed below.
Requirements to attend: Students must provide valid documentation of 24-hour SFST Practitioner training at the door to attend. Acceptable documentation: SFST card, certificate or police academy graduate after January 1, 2010. Officers must demonstrate SFST Proficiency at the conclusion of SFST Refresher training to continue with the training.
