Advanced Identity Theft Training Summit for Law Enforcement
The Michigan State Police, in partnership with FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA), is offering an Advanced Identity Theft Training Summit for Law Enforcement. This two-day training seminar will be held in Livonia, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4-5, 2019. This very popular summit has been offered over 250 times to more than 16,000 officers in all 50 states, Guam, and in Canada. We will offer the latest information on the fastest growing crime in our country, and all sworn law enforcement is welcome to attend. This is an advanced training, so in addition to covering the basics of identity theft, we will also cover network compromises, url lookups, how to track ip addresses, and much more. Also covered is a demo on credit card skimming, a segment on victim assistance to help victims (as well as officers personally) protect themselves from data compromises, and tons of other info.
Some of the many topics covered:
- Aspects of identity theft
- Relevant identity theft laws
- Trends, different types of compromises
- Live demos of equipment used
- Identity theft awareness and protection strategies
- Databases to assist in financial crime investigations.
Please register today! This is MCOLES approved for training credit. There is no cost to attend this training, and lunch will be provided both days. The class is open to all sworn law enforcement, including patrol, investigations, supervisory personnel, and commanders. We also welcome prosecutors and law enforcement agency support staff, and financial institution fraud investigators.
