This will allow you to get email only and will not sync your calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>These steps are a guide to setting up your device. Different versions of the Android OS present the options that you need to set up at different stages. Please read all the steps below before starting so you are familiar with the settings needed so you can address them as they are encountered on your device.<\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Find the&nbsp;<strong>GMail&nbsp;<\/strong>app on your device and open it.<\/li><li>Select the icon on the top right of the GMail application.&nbsp; (It is most likely a circle.)<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Add anoth account<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Google<\/strong><\/li><li>Enter your full Schoolcraft email address (<em>firstname.lastname<\/em>@apps.schoolcraft.edu)<\/li><li>Read and Accept the Google Notification<\/li><li>Enter the app password that you generated from your Schoolcraft email account for the&nbsp;<strong>Password<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter your Schoolcraft e-mail username and password<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Login<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ve now set up your Android device to get email.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ios\">Setup for&nbsp;iOS Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>To use an Apple iOS based device, follow these instructions to setup Google Sync on your phone.&nbsp; This will allow you to get email, calendar and contacts and keep them in sync.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open the&nbsp;<strong>Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;app on your device&#8217;s home screen.<\/li><li>Open&nbsp;<strong>Mail<\/strong><\/li><li>Press&nbsp;<strong>Accounts<\/strong><\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Add Account<\/strong><\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Google<\/strong>&nbsp;account type<\/li><li>In the Email field, enter your full Schoolcraft email address (<em>firstname.lastname<\/em>@apps.schoolcraft.edu)<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong><\/li><li>Enter your Schoolcraft e-mail username and password<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Login<\/strong><\/li><li>Select the Google services (Mail, Calendar, and Contacts) you want to sync<ul><li>To receive and respond to meeting requests on your device, both&nbsp;<strong>Mail<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Calendar&nbsp;<\/strong>need to be turned on, and New Invitations needs to be enabled in your&nbsp;<strong>Google Calendar Settings<\/strong>.&nbsp; To enable&nbsp;<strong>New Invitations<\/strong>:<ol><li>Sign in to your Schoolcraft email and go to your calendar using the web browser on your phone or computer.<\/li><li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>Calendar Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;then&nbsp;<strong>Calendars<\/strong>&nbsp;and click on the&nbsp;<strong>Notifications<\/strong>&nbsp;for the calendar you want to sync.<\/li><li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Email<\/strong>, check&nbsp;<strong>New Invitations&nbsp;<\/strong>(and any other Invitation settings you want enabled), and click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Unless you want to delete all the existing Contacts and Calendars on your phone, select the&nbsp;<strong>Keep on my iPhone<\/strong>&nbsp;(or iPad \/ iPod Touch) option when prompted.&nbsp; This will also allow you to keep syncing with your computer via iTunes.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<p>If you want to sync only the&nbsp;<strong>My Contacts<\/strong>&nbsp;group, you must choose to&nbsp;<strong>Delete Existing Contacts&nbsp;<\/strong>during the Google Sync install when prompted.&nbsp; If you choose to keep existing contacts, it will sync the contents of your&nbsp;<strong>All Contacts<\/strong>&nbsp;group instead.&nbsp; If there are no contacts on your phone, the contents of your&nbsp;<strong>All Contacts<\/strong>&nbsp;group will be synced.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ve now set up Google Sync!&nbsp; Synchronization will begin automatically if you have Push enabled on your device.&nbsp; You can also open the&nbsp;<strong>Mail<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Calendar<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Contacts<\/strong>&nbsp;app and wait a few seconds for it to start syncing.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"color:#ddd\" class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-spacer gb-block-spacer gb-divider-solid gb-divider-size-1\"><hr style=\"height:100px\" \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile Device Setup Your Schoolcraft email account can be linked to your mobile device.
