{"id":166,"date":"2022-05-05T18:44:58","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T18:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stgschoolcraft.wpengine.com\/information-technology\/?page_id=166"},"modified":"2026-02-09T15:10:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T15:10:01","slug":"first-time-student","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/information-technology\/single-sign-on-sso\/first-time-student\/","title":{"rendered":"First Time Student"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Time Student?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re a first time student at Schoolcraft College you&#8217;ll need to know your username and password to login to the many systems we use.<br><br>Your login credentials are used for Ocelot Access, Blackboard, SC Mail, WI-FI and any other systems.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your username will be the first initial of your first name followed by your 7-digit student number.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use the following link to create your password: <a href=\"https:\/\/my.schoolcraft.edu\/s\/new-student-password\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/my.schoolcraft.edu\/s\/new-student-password\">New Student Password Setup<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must be able to receive email to the personal email address that is on your student record in order to receive the one-time link from Schoolcraft.<br><br><\/strong>You must change your password. If the above method does not work you may need to contact the <a href=\"\/answers\">Answer Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Set up Student Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you create your password and log in for the first time, you will be prompted to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA is a required layer of security that helps protect your Schoolcraft account. For more information, please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/information-technology\/single-sign-on-sso\/student-mfa\/\">MFA help page<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Password Security Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Schoolcraft passwords are used by to access campus computers, email, Blackboard, Office 365, and a number of other applications and platforms. When changing passwords, your new password will need to meet the following secure password requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be at least 10 characters long<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must contain three of the following four categories:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uppercase characters (A-Z)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lowercase characters (a-z)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Numbers (0-9)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-alphanumeric characters like $, # or %<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must not contain any part of your name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must not be a recently used password<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First Time Student?
