Her memoir recounts her experiences during the 1975 fall of Phnom Penh\, which ended the Cambodian Civil War\, and was adapted into a 2017 Netflix Original film directed by Angelina Jolie. Ung will give a presentation and answer questions during her visit to campus. This is a Schoolcraft College Focus Series and Schoolcraft Pageturners collaborative event. The event is supported by the Center for Experiential Learning and the Schoolcraft College Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:Classical piano and cello duo  Vistatech Center\, Kehrl Auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichael Boyd is a Steinway artist who has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra\, and at guest recitals across Europe and the United States\, including Carnegie Hall. A professor of piano at the University of Toledo\, Boyd holds both master’s and doctoral degrees from the Eastman School of Music. \n\n\n\nCellist Damon Coleman began his cello studies through the Suzuki method in his hometown of Detroit\, Michigan. Damon has been the principal cellist of the Kalamazoo Symphony\, the Memphis Opera\, the Flint Symphony\, and the Michigan Chamber Orchestra. The Humanities In Action Network is the latest program launched by the Center for Experiential Learning designed to bridge the gap between academic study and pathways by bringing together professionals\, Schoolcraft faculty and students to explore how the arts and humanities translate into meaningful\, impactful careers.
