DESCRIPTION:Solo Jazz Piano Vistatech Center\, Kehrl Auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLisa Sung is an award- winning jazz pianist\, composer\, and educator whose work bridges cultures through the language of jazz. In 2022\, she received the prestigious John Stites Jazz Award for artistic development\, which has supported her ongoing exploration of world musical traditions within jazz contexts. \n\n\n\nShe currently serves as an adjunct professor at Calvin University and Aquinas College\, where she directs the Calvin Jazz Band and co-directs the Gospel Choir. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick to Download PDF

DESCRIPTION:Paul Michalsen\, trumpet | Soonghee Ha\, pianoLeslie Mason\, voice | Frederick Moss\, clarinet \n\n\n\nSchoolcraft music faculty perform a variety of pieces on a variety of instruments Vistatech Center\, Kehrl Auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPaul Michalsen is an educator\, professional musician and clinician who has performed across the United States\, Canada\, and Great Britain with organizations such as the International Trumpet Guild and the Association of Concert Bands. He plays cornet in several Brass Bands and is the founding director of the Plymouth Brass Ensemble. \n\n\n\nDr. Soonghee Ha teaches Class Piano and Music History. She received her doctoral degree in Piano Performance and Master of Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Ha is an active performer as both a soloist and a collaborative accompanist. She also teaches from her piano studio in Northville. \n\n\n\nLeslie Mason\, soprano\, is a recent addition to the Schoolcraft Music Faculty. Leslie has appeared on stages around the world\, including concerts in Graz\, Austria\, Carnegie Hall\, Detroit Institute of the Arts\, Detroit Symphony Orchestra\, Michigan Opera Theatre\, Detroit Boxing Club\, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Faculty Recital Series. Ms. Mason holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Bowling Green State University. \n\n\n\nDr. Frederick Moss joined the faculty at Schoolcraft College in the fall of 2002. During his college teaching career\, he has taught a variety of courses including Music for Elementary School Teachers\, Music Appreciation\, Popular Music in America\, and Instrumental Music Performance.
