Wednesday Noon Concert Series: Schoolcraft Music Faculty

Schoolcraft Music Faculty:

Dr. Gerardo Ascheri heads the piano program at Schoolcraft College. As a traditional and Suzuki piano instructor, he is an active lecturer, performer, and music advocate in the Lansing community.  A former faculty member at the Michigan State University Community Music School, he has also served as president for the Lansing Matinee Musicale, Capital Area Music Teachers Association and Michigan Music Teachers Association.

Dr. Soonghee Ha is a recent addition to the music faculty at Schoolcraft College where she teaches Class Piano and Music History.   She received her doctoral degree in Piano Performance and Master of Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin.  Dr. Ha is an active performer as both a soloist and a collaborative accompanist.  She also teaches from her piano studio in Northville.

Dr. Frederick Moss joined the faculty at Schoolcraft College in the fall of 2002. During his college teaching career, he has taught a variety of courses including Music for Elementary School Teachers, Music Appreciation, Popular Music in America, and Instrumental Music Performance. An accomplished clarinetist, Dr. Moss has performed on numerous solo and chamber music recitals. In addition, he has appeared on master classes with famous artists such as Richard Stoltzman and David Shifrin.

Dr. Riccardo Selva has performed in the United States and in Europe as a soloist in both the classical and jazz idioms. He is an active performer, composer, educator, and recording artist in both the Detroit and Chicago music communities. Currently, he serves as the director of jazz studies at Schoolcraft College where he conducts the jazz ensemble and instructs the jazz combo program.

2021-2022 Noon Concert Series:

  • VisTaTech Kehrl Auditorium
  • Concerts begin at Noon and last approximately 1 hour
  • The Noon Concerts are free and open to the public
