In order to maximize federal funding, and have awards in place prior to registration, it is recommended that the FAFSA be submitted at least 4-6 weeks prior to registration. Once the FAFSA is submitted, be sure to check your SC mail and Ocelot Access for updates.

What does completing the FAFSA early mean for Schoolcraft students?

The new year’s FAFSA (Fall through Spring/Summer) is available October 1 of each year and awarding begins in early March. Once we begin the awarding process, students will need to check their SC mail account for their award notice or if the Office of Financial Aid requires additional information.

For students completing the 2023-2024 FAFSA, Schoolcraft College will receive your completed FAFSA within 7-10 business days. Once we receive the FAFSA, will notify you thru your Schoolcraft College email address regarding your application status. You can review your application status and receive your award letter from the Financial Aid menu on Ocelot Access.

When to Apply Watch Video: 4 Tips for Applying to Financial Aid When Should I Submit the FAFSA?
