New Student Orientation welcomes students to the campus community, prepares them for academic expectations and opportunities, and provides them with the necessary knowledge to start off strong at Schoolcraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All first-time college students are&nbsp;<strong>required<\/strong>&nbsp;to complete New Student Orientation. The online orientation will familiarize you with academics, campus life, student resources, and next steps. Information in this orientation is presented on the Blackboard Learning Management System, and students will need to use their student login credentials to access it. At the end of each section, you will take a short quiz, which lets us know you completed each part of the orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete the following steps to enroll in the New Student Orientation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bb.schoolcraft.edu\/?new_loc=%2Fultra%2Forganizations%2F_32487_1%2Foutline\">Blackboard New Student Orientation Self-Enrollment page.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are not already logged into Blackboard, you will be prompted to use your student credentials to login.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blackboard uses the same username and password as your Schoolcraft Student e-mail account and WIFI. See the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcraft.edu\/information-technology\/single-sign-on-sso\/first-time-student\/\">Single Sign-On login information page<\/a>\u00a0if you need help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you are logged in to Blackboard, click\u00a0<em>Submit<\/em>\u00a0on the Self Enrollment page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0Click\u00a0<em>Ok<\/em>, and you\u2019ll be taken directly to the New Student Orientation in Blackboard!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/schoolcraft.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=68f6b7d6-16af-49a3-9a65-b03e015996ed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enrolling in the New Student Orientation for Schoolcraft College<\/a>\u00a0for a video demonstration on enrolling in the New Student Orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon successful enrollment, you will have access to this Blackboard Organization from the Organization menu in Blackboard whenever you need it. A link to the Orientation will also appear in the&nbsp;<em>New Students<\/em>&nbsp;area of your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/schoolcraft.edu\/ocelotaccess\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ocelot Access account<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the online orientation, new students should contact the Advising Office at 734-462-4429 and select option 4 to schedule an appointment.
