Meet Our Cabinet Members
Dr. Conway A. Jeffress, President
Dr. Conway Jeffress has been the President of Schoolcraft College since July of 2001. During his tenure as president, Schoolcraft has grown in physical size and enrollment. Jeffress has overseen the development of several new buildings and programs, including the Bradner Library, VisTaTech Center, Biomedical Technology building and the recent purchase of the former American Community Mutual Insurance building at the corner of Seven Mile and Haggerty Roads. Jeffress has been with the College for the majority of his career and also has served as the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services.
Dr. Glenn Cerny, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Glenn Cerny has spent nearly his entire career in higher education in the business services area. Before coming to Schoolcraft College in 2010, Cerny had worked for North Central Michigan College, Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Lansing Community College and the University of Michigan. Cerny and his team are responsible for Schoolcraft College’s $90 million budget.
Dr. Cheryl Hagen, Vice President Chief Student Services Officer
Dr. Cheryl Hagen has been Associate Dean of Enrollment Management, Dean of Student Services and Vice President of Student Services during her 12 year tenure at Schoolcraft College. She spent the majority of her career in similar positions at Central Michigan University and Cleary University.
Dr. Cheryl Hawkins, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Cheryl Hawkins began her career at Schoolcraft College in 1992 as a part-time faculty member and moved through the ranks of full-time faculty, Associate Dean and Dean of Liberal Arts and Science. Her mission is to continue to provide quality learning opportunities so students can achieve their educational goals. In addition, her interests are in systems thinking, change management, continuous quality improvement and interpersonal communication. Prior to coming to Schoolcraft College she worked in various management positions within the healthcare industry.
Joan Morehead, SHRM-SCP, Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer
Joan Morehead began her career at Schoolcraft College in December of 2019. She has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resource and Business operations, working for organizations in the public and non-profit segments; including, HRPro, the Michigan Public Health Institute, Matrix Human Services, Blue Care Network and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Her mission is to promote a work environment where there is respect and trust that in turn enables a safe and productive campus for student achievement.
Patrick Turner, Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Patrick Turner joined Schoolcraft College in January of 2014 and was the Executive Director for Data Center Operations prior to his current position. He has more than 30 years of experience in the Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering fields, including positions with Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. as the Vice President of Engineering, Schlumberger, the Pontiac Motor Division of GM and a group of privately held companies in the software development and computer hosting industries, where he served as Chief Technology Officer.
