CES 4287 - Dementia Care

The impact of dementia on healthcare systems, economic systems, and family systems is significant and expected to increase as the number of elderly grows in our society. It is estimated that more than 4 million people in this country now suffer from Alzheimer dementia, and this number is projected to rise to more than 10 million by 2050. Although medications have been developed to slow the progression of dementia, at this time there is no cure for it. This class will cover management of dementia symptoms and behaviors, which have become the primary concern for the healthcare providers and families. Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other healthcare providers are welcome to attend. This class is worth 4 continuing education contact hours for nurses.*
