Center for Academic and Faculty Excellence (CAFE)

The Center for Academic and Faculty Excellence (CAFE) opened Fall 2014 at Schoolcraft College in Room 100 Grote. The Center is run by faculty for faculty. The mission of the CAFE is to encourage the exploration of new approaches to teaching and learning, and to cultivate professional dialogue through orientations, workshops, research, and one-on-one consultations.

The CAFE houses a selection of books, articles, and other resources which can be used in the CAFE or checked out by faculty. The Center for Academic and Faculty Excellence is staffed by volunteer faculty members. The hours which the CAFE is open may vary based on the availability of faculty to support this effort, or use of the facility for professional development activities. The facility hosts a variety of professional development activities, including Brown Bag lunches, departmental meetings, webinars, seminars, and more.
