Ralph Votapek is the first gold medalist of the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and has made hundreds of appearances with most of the major American orchestras, including sixteen with the Chicago Symphony. He recently retired from Michigan State University, but his performance career continues unabated in Latin America, Germany and the United States.
