Schoolcraft faculty members perform a free concert March 24

On Wednesday, March 24, three accomplished members of the Schoolcraft College Music Department's faculty will perform a free concert at noon in the VisTaTech Center, located on the college's main campus in Livonia, on Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads.

Linda Meehan, soprano, has a reputation as a gifted and versatile singer noted for her brilliant artistry and commanding vocal style. Her oratorio repertoire is extensive and ranges from the Baroque to the Twentieth Century. Meehan is a member of the faculty at Schoolcraft College where she teaches voice both privately and in group class settings.

Barton Polot is a versatile instructor at Schoolcraft College where he teaches music theory and ear training, electronic music composition, and is responsible for the music technology program. Polot's experience with computers and music dates to the 1970s. He is a widely-known national clinician, lecturer and author on applications of technology in music education.

Riccardo Selva has performed in the United States and in Europe as a soloist in both the classical and jazz idioms. He is an active performer, composer, educator, and recording artist in both the Detroit and Chicago music communities. Currently, he serves as the director of jazz studies at Schoolcraft College where he conducts the jazz ensemble and instructs the jazz combo program.
