Drafting the Paper:
Writing the Body

The Schoolcraft College English Department's quality standards for research papers, say that

Satisfactory organization and development is achieved through clear paragraphing, orderly essay structure, adequate support of generalizations, and topic unity. More specifically, supporting paragraphs develop the thesis satisfactorily by using clear topic sentences, meaningful and relevant evidence, illustration, or analysis while they maintain order, unity, and coherence.

However, when you are writing your first draft, you should not be overly concerned with any of these issues. Instead, you should write quickly getting all of your thoughts down on papaer. Later, while preparing a second draft, you can concentrate on organizational issues.
