Explanation

If the instructor of "Care of Children and Families" (Nursing 212) read an article about the shortage of nurses and wanted to copy it for her on-campus class the next day, such copies would likely be permitted under the fair use provision of the copyright law. However, because this article is not directly realted to the care of children and families, it is unlikely that a digital version of the article could legally be posted in BlackBoard without the permission of the copyright holder.

If the instructor knew that an on-line version of the article was available, she could include a link in BlackBoard which would lead her students to the article.
