Your Plan

College students of all ages face the same dilemma: They need time to explore their options but face pressure to make immediate decisions about the future.

At Schoolcraft College you can have it both ways. You can jump right in, even if it’s only one class. During that first semester, keep talking with your counselor or academic advisor, and keep visiting the Career and Transfer Center. Use this time to clarify your career and life goals and solidify your academic plan.

University bound?

If you are certain there is a four-year degree in your future, take the time now to review the agreements that enable you to turn two or three years at Schoolcraft into the first two or three years of a bachelor’s degree at a university.

Job vs. career?

Before you reach for that next rung, make sure it’s connected to a ladder. Helpful staff and useful databases in the Career and Transfer Center can make it easier to plan your next move.

Not ready for college?

How will you know until you try? Every day, people of all ages bring their doubts to Schoolcraft, where they find the support they need to succeed.

‘Assessment’ isn’t as scary as it sounds

Testing Center

If you are a new student who has never taken the ACT or SAT test, chances are you will be required to complete an assessment test.

This multiple-choice, untimed test provides information about your readiness in reading, writing and mathematics. This will help you and your advisor or counselor select the courses most appropriate for your first semester at Schoolcraft. Read more about assessment.
