Programs for Students Grades K-12

Schoolcraft College isn’t just for adults. We also have a variety of exciting educational opportunities for children pre-school age through grade 12 with our Kids on Campus (KOC) program.

Our popular summer day camps are led by our skilled professionals in a diverse and dynamic social environment. KOC summer programs generally run from 9:00am-3:00pm or 9:00am-12:00 noon with limited before and after care available for a small fee.

Hands-on learning experiences bring out the inquisitive side of even the most hesitant of participants. Kids ready to engage in a whole new experience can enjoy access to computers, math, cultural immersion, acting, the arts, science, writing and career-oriented learning opportunities. For those who want to expand academically, we also offer skills workshops.

KOC sessions are also available throughout the year at times convenient for children and parents.

New STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Scholarship Opportunities

The Continuing Education and Professional Development Department of Schoolcraft College, with generous financial support by the Bosch Community Fund, is pleased to announce a new Kids on Campus Scholarship opportunity.

To apply, please complete the application, along with the registration and emergency information form. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling weekly basis until the funds are exhausted. Please make sure that all three forms are included when applying, or your application will be considered incomplete, and will not be reviewed. Also please select your four top choices for camps. We will try to honor your first choice but may not be able to do so if a camp is full.

Kids on Campus Class Offerings

Summer Registration

You have until the day before the program is scheduled to start to complete registration, but classes fill up quickly. You must register your child in his or her name (not the parent's name). To avoid missing an opportunity, get your child’s registration in early using one of our three available options outlined on our CEPD registration page. You must register your child in his or her name (not the parent's name).

*The Emergency Contact Information form must be completed. Schoolcraft College reserves the right to delay the registration until completed emergency contact information is provided.

For more than 30 years Schoolcraft College has hosted students in first through twelfth grades for week-long, in-depth learning experiences during the summer. One example is the Web Design camp for middle school age students. During the Web Design camp, kids learn how to build graphics and create film clips and short animation that they can use to build and enhance their very own website.

Six Suggestions to Make Your Family’s KOC Experience as Fun and Easy as Possible:

1. Prepare for Registration

Registration for any KOC camp should be in the child’s name using the child’s account information. If your child does not already have an account (meaning that he/she has never taken any type of class or camp at Schoolcraft College before), one will be created during registration.

If a parent attempts to register using their own name and/or Schoolcraft account, the registration will not go through. If your child already has an account, we strongly recommend that you test out his/her log in information in WebAdvisor (www.schoolcraft.edu/webadvisor) before the first day of registration – this will increase your child’s chances of getting into a high-demand camp (e.g. Culinary, Robotics, Ceramics, Minecraft, etc.).

Also, it is very important to fill out the Emergency Contact Information as part of the registration process – we reserve the right to delay your registration if this information is not submitted.

It is always best to understand the registration process in advance – for assistance, please call the CEPD Office at (734) 462-4448, send an email to cepd@schoolcraft.edu or attend the KOC Open House on February 15 from 6-7:30pm. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on February 16.

2. Print Your Child’s Schedule from WebAdvisor

For the most up-to-date class/camp information, visit www.schoolcraft.edu/webadvisor. Once you log in to your child’s account, go to Continuing Education (Non-Credit) and then click on My Class Schedule under the Academic Profile menu. If you need help with log in, please call the CEPD Office at (734) 462-4448 or send an email to cepd@schoolcraft.edu. NOTE: We strongly encourage you to give the printed schedule to your child, so that they can carry it with them at all times while on campus.

3. Review These Important Information Resources

4. Navigate the Campus Successfully

Dropping your child off: When you bring your child to campus, please look for and follow the KOC directional signage. Last year’s construction has been completed, but please be mindful of speed limits, pedestrian walkways, etc. (Also note: Regular college academic and other CEPD adult classes will also be in session during the summer.)

Pickup: Pickup time for most camps is 3 p.m. If you arrive late (after 3:15 p.m.), and your child is not at their designated pick-up location, you can find them in the Before and After Care room (in Liberal Arts Bldg. Rm. 440). Late pick-up fees will apply.

5. Remember Before & After Care Sign In and Out Procedures

If registered for Before/After Care (CES 3677), you must sign your child in/out each day (in Liberal Arts Room 440). If you are trying to register your child for Before/After Care but the sections are full, keep checking WebAdvisor. Often, a few days before camps begin, drops occur. Register for Before/After Care online immediately when you see an opening.

NOTE: We are unable to overload any of the Before/After Care sections.

6. Read the Handouts

On the first day of camp your child will bring home information about the week’s activities, in addition to the end-of-the-week showcase for parents to see what their child has been working on.
