Wednesday Noon Classical Concert, Anthony Bonamici, piano

At an early age, Anthony Bonamici was already giving solo recitals and performing with orchestras.  He was a prizewinner in both national and international piano competitions, and as a 16-year-old composer, won first place in the BMI student competition for his Piano Concerto.  Anthony studied piano with Donald Morelock at Schoolcraft College and composition with Andrew Meade at the University of Michigan.  He received a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in 2001, and a degree in composition in 2004.

Anthony is currently an Associate Professor at the Hertzen State Pedagogical University in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he has been teaching piano performance and chamber music since 2007.    He continues to perform both as a soloist and in ensembles, conducts master classes and adjudicates competitions.
