GSA Assistance
The General Services Administration (GSA) is a federal government agency which manages IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contracts that allow federal agencies to purchase from vendors. Obtaining a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) is appealing to vendors since some federal agencies are required to purchase certain products/services from vendors on a schedule.
The first steps to getting on a GSA Federal Supply Schedule:
- Go to the GSA Schedules e-library at: www.gsaelibrary.gsa.gov
- In the Search field, enter a keyword that describes your product or service.
- Click Search.
- In your results, the "Source" column is a Schedule number (the "Category" is an item or section of the Schedule listed on the "Source" column).
- You will need to identify a schedule(s) that apply to your product/service. Refer to the “Descriptions” to determine this. Once you have determined an appropriate schedule, click on the schedule number.
- (You may want to repeat the last four steps more than once to be sure there is not more than one schedule that is appropriate).
- When you determine the schedule(s) that is appropriate for your company, you should also contact the point of contact to confirm your company is correctly suited for this schedule. Contact information is available at the Schedule Summary page (step 5) or in the solicitation document (step 11).
- At the next page, click on the box that says "Vendors click here to view the current solicitation on FedBizOpps".
- Next you will need to click on Solicitation.
- This will take you to another page that will likely list several documents.
- Download/print all the documents and read them in their entirety while making notes along the way.
- If you run into questions or need assistance along the way, please contact the PTAC of Schoolcraft College.
