Chef Dan Hugelier joined the staff of Schoolcraft in 1991. He was the coach of Team USA National for the 2000 International Culinary Olympics, a team member, and multiple gold-medal winner on several US Culinary Olympic teams, including the world championship team in 1988. The team also won the World Championship Hot Food Competition in 1980, 1984, and 1988, and is the only team to win three consecutive medals.
His impressive resume includes research and development for several world-class restaurants, clubs, and hotels, and the title of Executive Chef at Amway Corporation, the Detroit Athletic Club, and the London Chop House.
Chef Hugelier’s teaching duties include overseeing kitchen operations for lunchtime service in the American Harvest Restaurant.
