Course Formats

Schoolcraft College provides students a variety of choices for learning. Students can register for traditional credit courses, attending classes on campus or take advantage of the flexibilty of the various distance learning options we offer. Schoolcraft is also home to the region's most comprehensive Continuing Education and Professional Development departments, which offers hundreds of non-credit courses each semester for students of all ages.

Students can take classes taught by our highly qualified faculty members and earn credits toward a certificate or degree at any of our three locations. 


Continuing Education

CEPD courses are non-credit earning that provide opportunities for students of any age to explore new careers and interests, polish work skills, or explore their creativity.


Independent learning is an option for some students for earning credit under the direction of a faculty member to achieve course competencies under special circumstances.

Online courses are offered through the Internet and offer tremendous flexibility for taking both credit and non-credit (CEPD) classes. 


Open Entry/Open Exit

OE/OE courses are self-paced and can be completed in several weeks, a month or a semester allowing you to fit coursework in when it is convenient to your work and family commitments.


Hybrid courses combine some in-class instruction with online learning, therefore requiring less time on-campus and allow for considerable flexibilty.
